Lake Fork Spring Solo #3

We want to encourage as many who can to register Saturday evening to reduce registration numbers on Sunday morning. We will be doing registration Saturday evening from 6 PM-8 PM at our travel trailer directly behind the Minnow Bucket Marina restaurant (first trailer next to the dumpster).

Registration will be conducted at 5:00 AM Sunday morning inside the restaurant, please only one angler per team in registration line and we must observe 6' social distance requirements as well as minimum of 5 anglers in the line inside the store. Others must remain outside until a space opens up.

We also have entry forms and membership forms available just inside the front door at the store that you can grab and fill out prior to getting in line.

$110 Team Entry Includes BB
$50 Optional Side Pot
$40 Membership Per Angler for anglers age 17 or over.

Tournament Hours: Leave Lake Fork Ramp of Choice at 6:05 AM All Fishing Ceases at 3:00 PM and Anglers Can Proceed to Weigh In. The weigh in procedure will be conducted under the pavilion but we cannot have spectators or anglers grouped up under the pavilion.

The weigh in process will be as follows. We will extend the weigh in procedure to 4:00 PM (no need to get chip checked until you approach the scales). We will have room for 2 anglers per tank for a total of 6 anglers at the tanks with anglers staged on opposite ends of each tank. Please remain at your boats until there is a spot open. Once a team has weighed if you feel you are in check range return to your boat/truck and wait until conclusion of the tournament, all others please leave the premises as soon as possible after weighing your fish to reduce congestion on the parking lot. Please no congregating, remain at your boat/truck at a safe distance from all other anglers.

All of our anglers did a great job at last Saturdays team tournament.
I know we can do this and follow all requirements and guidelines from Governor Abbott. Please register Saturday Evening if at all possible. I will have a printed copy of these guidelines for all anglers at registration.

Fishing Report from TPWD (Mar. 5)

GOOD. Water Stained; 60 degrees; 0.20 feet below pool. Water level is about 4 inches low with temperatures 56-65 degrees. Bass have made a big move to the shallows with some on beds in 1-3 feet. Flukes and senkos are good in these areas. Chatterbaits and small swimbaits are good in the backs of the pockets and shallow flats with grass. Look for some main lake points to start producing with squarebill crankbaits and Carolina rigs in 3-5 feet. Report by Marc Mitchell, Lake Fork Guide Service. Catching small bass shallow with bait fish streamers. Larger females will become more active as warm days continue around structure and brush. The crappie should be moving shallow and Wooly buggers can be a good choice. Report by Guide Alex Guthrie, Fly Fish Fork Guide Service. The Lake Fork crappie bite is really good, if you can stand the cold weather and beat the winds. Patterns are changing daily due to the inconsistent weather patterns. Some days fish will stack up on bridges and the next they will disappear. Timber in 14-34 feet seems to be the most consistent pattern. If you find a crappie and hold an artificial bait above it still enough most fish are crushing that bait. Use smaller profile jigs in deeper water mid lake, or on bridges. On the north end in shallower and muddier water use longer and bigger profile jigs. Try to fish lighter, more neutral colors in deeper water and darker colors in shallower water. Soft plastics and minnows will still get you bit as well. We should see the fish push shallower and shallower over the next few weeks with warmer temps in the forecast after the next week. Report by Jacky Wiggins, Jacky Wiggins Guide Service.
